Increased demand for EU Organic and ethical certifications

New statistics reveal increased demand for EU Organic and ethical certifications at the Nordic Organic Food Fair and Natural Beauty & Health Show.

The Nordic Organic Food Fair, co-organized with the Natural Beauty & Health Show, is expected to see a significant rise in demand for EU Organic certified products. New statistics (compiled from the organizer’s visitor data) show that over half of the expected industry visitors are seeking this certification.

In addition to EU Organic, other certifications such as Fairtrade, EcoCert, EU Ecolabel, AllergyCertified, and Cruelty-Free were also ranked as high priorities for retailers attending the fair.

According to the latest statistics*, the highest-ranked certifications visitors are looking for include:

  • EU Organic: 52%
  • Fairtrade: 33%
  • EcoCert: 31%
  • Organic Agriculture Europe: 23%
  • EU Ecolabel/Swan Label: 22%
  • Cruelty-Free: 21%
  • AllergyCertified: 21%

The demand for certifications reflects the growing consumer awareness of products that are not only organic but also sustainable, ethical, and animal-friendly. Retailers are recognizing the importance of meeting this demand and are actively seeking products with the desired certifications.

For visitors in the beauty industry, EcoCert was ranked highest (31%), followed by Cruelty-Free and AllergyCertified in second place (21%). Natrue came in third place (16%), and Leaping Bunny ranked fourth (4%).

Among the exhibitors who have booked for the fair, 83% (who shared their certifications in their online profiles) stated they are EU Organic certified. This was followed by USDA (21%), EcoCert (19%), BioSuisse (15%), Vegan Society (11%), Soil Association (11%), and Cruelty-Free (10%).
