Kari Marte Sjøvik

Kari Marte Sjøvik is the Managing Director of Organic Norway. Sjøvik holds a Master of Science in Agronomy from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), specializing in soil and plant sciences with an emphasis on organic production. Her interdisciplinary educational background combines biology from the University of Oslo with agronomy from NMBU, giving her in-depth knowledge of agriculture and organic methods. With her background in biology and botany, she has developed a holistic understanding of the importance of biodiversity—and how harmful pesticides and synthetic fertilizers can be to ecosystems both above and below ground. Kari Marte also loves cheese and is a board member of Norsk Gardsost (the Norwegian Farmhouse Cheese Association).
