This project seeks to empower the indigenous communities towards improved livelihood sources through sustainable pepper cultivation and agroforestry in community-use areas surrounded by natural forest. The project goal is to attain a sustainable agriculture approach that provides higher yield and improves community livelihoods, leading to greater forest stewardship through reduction of forest conversion and environmental degradation. One of the objectives is by end of project cycle, at least 20 farmers will participate and implement sustainable pepper farming through a stepwise chemical-free, moving towards an organic approach. The livelihood of farmers actively involved in the project are improved through sustainable pepper farming and diversified crops.
