Since 2022 sponsor of The Old Vine Conference: a non-profit organisation founded by Masters of Wine (Sarah Abbott MW in the picture) to enhance the old vines in the world and their wines as a new commercial category of fine wines; on November 2022 our Estate hosted their first international conference.
18 hectares of old vines that have been preserved and meticulously restored, a heritage that Professor Mario Fregoni defined as “the Italian capital of old vines”.
A row of Tocai Friulano dating back to late 19 th – early 20 th century, trained into the “Cassone Padovano” system, created by the Benedictine monks in ancient times and rare to be found nowadays; in 2022 new planting of Tocai Friulano with the same training system, using shoots of the ancient “Cassone” to preserve the genetic heritage.
